Baccarat

Baccarat, also known as Punto Banco is a casino game, typically played in a specific area away from other games. Baccarat consists of a playing table similar in size to a craps table. In addition, three dealers accommodate, as many as 14 players, although 12 players are acceptable. While baccarat is not for everyone, once you learn the game and strategies of the game, it can become quite addictive.

When betting in the game of baccarat, two primary bets are made, which include banker or player, otherwise known as Banco or Punto respectively. Additionally, on rare occasions, another type of bet is made known as the Standoff. Depending on the casino where you play, you may or may not be allowed to deal cards in turn. Otherwise, the dealer would deal the cards. Keep in mind that baccarat is also a game played on the internet in which a virtual dealer deals the cards.

For the game of baccarat, each player, which includes the player dealing, is allowed to bet on Banco or Punto, although in most cases, the dealer would bet on Banco. Additionally, each player is allowed to pass on dealing, which is referred to as “passing the shoe” on to the next player. In this case, the shoe stays with one player but only if the bank continues to win. However, if Punto becomes the winner, the shoe would then be passed to the next player.

For each game, two hands are dealt. At that point, players bet on which hand they believe will win or tie. The betting in baccarat is somewhat like betting on Black or Red in the game of roulette with the payoff being even money. However, in the case of a Standoff, the pay would change from 1:1 to 8:1 or 9:1. When comparing Banco to Punto bets, the only real difference is that winning on Banco means you have to pay 5% commission to the casino, giving the house an advantage. The reason for this commission or tax is that it has been determined an eight-deck cards play on Banco will win three to four hands on average more than Punto.

For each hand dealt to the players, there are at least two but no more than three cards. For the player dealing or the dealer, two cards are placed face down and under the shoe. Then, the player with the biggest bet on Punto is given two additional cards, again face down. At this point, the player betting on Punto would glance at his or her cards, returning them to the dealer. Next, the player dealing turns over the cards of both hands while a casino dealer tells everyone the results and names the winner.

Keep in mind that in the game of baccarat, if either hand reaches 8 or 9, which is called a Natural, no additional cards would be dealt to the player. However, if the player does not have a Natural, the value of the hand dealt would determine if the dealer deals a third card or not. This decision is based specifically on rules set forth by the house, which varies from one casino to another casino.

After all the hands have been dealt, the player holding the highest count becomes the winner. At that point, the casino dealer gathers all the losing bets, followed by paying out money for the winning hands. For this, the player who dealt the cards does not handle payouts, only the casino dealer. As you will discover below, the rules for baccarat are not difficult. The more you practice and learn the better chance of becoming a top winner.

For this game, a six or eight-deck shoe is used. In the shoe, all the face cards and 10s are of zero value. However, cards 1 through 9 have a face value. For instance, an Ace is valued at 1. In addition, in the game of baccarat, suits do not count. In fact, only single digit values are valid. Then, any count reaching a double digit would drop the digit on the left. In other words, if you ended up with a 13 or 23, the hand would be valued at 3. Some important rules you should know include the following: Player’s Third Card Rule * If a player or the bank has 8 or 9 on the first two cards dealt, no additional cards are drawn, which means the hand is a Natural and play on that hand is done * If the player has less than or equal to 5, a third card would be drawn * If the player does not draw a third card, the bank would stand with its hand on 6 or higher, taking a third card on 5 or less * If the player takes a third card, the bank’s third card rule determines if the banks draws a third card Bank’s Third Card Rule * For 2 or less, the bank would draw a card no matter the number of a player’s third card * If the bank has 3, the bank draws a third card with the exception of players having a third card of 8 * If the bank has 4, a third card would be drawn with the exception of a player’s third card being a 0, 1, 8, or 9 * For 5, the bank would draw a third card, as long as the player’s third card were 4, 5, 6, or 7 * For the bank’s total of 6, a third card would be drawn but only if the player’s third card were a 6 or 7 * If the bank has a 7, it stands Recent Casino Betting Buzz
